About this symbol

Unicode’s own notes admit that ℎ is simply a mathematical italic h, and that its name, Planck constant, comes from older character sets. Physicists write Planck’s constant, the basic step size of quantum physics, as an italic h, and its partner ℏ, h-bar, as h divided by 2π.
