About this symbol

↊, a turned 2, is a digit for ten in the dozenal, or base-twelve, number system. Isaac Pitman, the inventor of Pitman shorthand, proposed turned 2 and turned 3 for ten and eleven in 1857, and the Dozenal Society of Great Britain still uses them.
