About this symbol

Vesta was the fourth asteroid discovered, found by Heinrich Olbers in 1807. It is the brightest asteroid seen from Earth, and NASA’s Dawn spacecraft orbited it in 2011 and 2012. Its sign shows the sacred flame of Vesta, the Roman goddess of the hearth.
